Meticulously co-designed with our client Gerrit Steltman to create his ideal apartment. The ceilingheight of 5m+ allowed us to build a mezzanine floor with library, bathroom and masterbedroom. We decided to work with the interesting characteristics of the space as we found it. Huge structural beams and piers define rhytm and scale. By making two walls of the bathroom in glass the main space still feels like one big space. And the groundfloor is one continuous floor of polished concrete of 220 m2. The steel structure of the mezzanine floor remains visible and is carefully designed to the last detail. A staircase made of massive steel leads to the dark oak mezzanine floor.
